Roll of Mass Loaded Vinyl - 1 lb./sq. ft. - 48" x 25'
MLV is a heavy flexible vinyl used in many home business and auto soundproofing applications. An economical and popular soundproofing solution among home contractors and do-it-yourself'ers.
Tips and Suggestions:
Easy Soundproof Barrier Curtain
Use strong grommets and hang mass loaded vinyl on a wall covered by a decorative wall covering.
Soundproofing a Wall
Mass loaded vinyl is most effective when used as part of a full soundproofing design whether it be for a wall, ceiling, or entire home or office. MLV is incorporated into a soundproof wall design to block outside noise from coming in or contain inside noise for privacy. Drywall is used to cover mass loaded vinyl using furring hat channels so it can resonate with the sound waves and absorb them.
Auto Soundproofing
Mass loaded vinyl is used in auto soundproofing applications because of its flexible yet dense noise abatement design. It can be placed within car doors to control sound from audio system speakers or underneath the carpet to soundproof your auto floor or trunk.
More about mass loaded vinyl
Our vinyl noise barrier will not shrink, rot or cause metal corrision and also features a strong resistance to adverse environmental conditions, oils, weak acids, and alkalais. May be combined with acoustical foams, glass fiber insulation wool to provide lightweight, efficient composites with high transmission losses over a broad frequency range.
The reduction of airborne noise and mass properties exhibited by our vinyl soundproofing barrier are attained without the use of hazardous lead or heavy metals.
